{"id":286,"date":"2026-09-09T02:46:33","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T02:46:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mgik4u.com\/?page_id=286"},"modified":"2026-09-09T02:52:02","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T02:52:02","slug":"do-you-actually-believe-in-magick","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mgik4u.com\/?page_id=286","title":{"rendered":"Do you ACTUALLY believe in magick?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I get asked this often, and I usually have a deck of cards, a couple of coins, or some bit of mischief up my sleeve to dispel credulity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the answer I would say is yeah\u2014but probably not in the way you mean by \u2018believe.\u2019 I\u2019ve spent a long time practicing magic, and I take it seriously as a way of working with attention, symbolism, intention, perception, and experience. There are parts of it I regard as psychological and experiential, and there are parts where I\u2019m comfortable saying, \u2018I don&#8217;t actually know what\u2019s going on.\u2019 I don&#8217;t need to pretend certainty to find the practice meaningful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think the interesting question is what we mean by \u2018magic.\u2019 I don&#8217;t necessarily mean that I can violate physics on command. I mean that human beings can deliberately change their relationship with perception, meaning, attention, behavior, and circumstance through ritual and symbol. I&#8217;ve practiced that for years. Whether there are dimensions of it that go beyond psychology?
